MILAN NAVIGLI CANAL CHALLENGE
The project's mission is to revitalize the area of Via Melchiorre Gioia, by the continuation of this contrast between modern and traditional architecture that is present in the area, as well as connecting the two piazzas of Gae Aulenti and Palazzio Lombardia together, in order to obtain a big and continuous public space, using the same materials used for sustainable buildings, and achieve sustainability in the area.
We were inspired by the circular shapes present in the area, and thus, the public space must not break this continuation.
Using the same methods of fluidity, we were able to obtain a large scale public space, that speak the same sustainable and fluid language as the present landmarks, and is connected to the Biblioteca delli Alberi, that is connected to all the landmarks present in the area, resulting in connecting the Canal to all the area of Via Melchiorre Gioia.
